Author spotlight: Rachel Grey
Sweater weather is fun when you get to stay in at home, probably snuggling under the covers with your favorite film/TV show on, or when you're reading that new book you've just picked off the bookstore recently. However, since there's been lots of rain and storms lately, it's easy to feel so tired that you just want to race back to bed as soon as you get off work.
But no need to worry. If you haven't had time to choose what you should binge-watch or binge-read, we've come up with some suggestions for you! This is why today, we want to introduce you to one of the best authors we've come across - Rachel Grey!
Rachel Grey is a USA Today bestselling author from Texas. Besides writing some of the best books we've read in the past few years, she lives with her husband and her adorable baby. You may already heard of her from the world of rom-com novels, but if you haven't yet, it's time to catch up! You can check out her website over
here.
We're super excited and we're currently on major *happy dance* mode because
Rachel's latest book is out today! And you best believe we started reading it as soon as it went live on our Kindle app!
Not So Nice Guy
Not So Nice Guy is a friends to lovers story that revolves around Ian and Sam who happen to be high school teachers. And what do you usually do when you have feelings for your best friend but you don't want to jeopardize the friendship?
You keep the feelings to yourself. Well, until such time that you just can't keep it in.
This book is a roller coaster ride of swoon and giddies that will make you laugh because of how relatable these two characters are! There is no worry over the push and pull between the characters because the pacing was just right - it'll never bore you. But then again, none of Rachel's books are boring!
Click the book cover above to see a preview of the book and make sure to purchase it from Amazon as soon as you can! It's currently sold for $0.99
so you better grab a copy before the price bumps up again.
If you've checked out our
November reading list, you might remember one of her books being included in that list. But besides that, we've listed down some of our favourite books of her so you could check them out ASAP!
The Allure of Julian Lefray
Workplace romance involving a somewhat awkward and funny girl AND a hot gut? Sign us up!
Jo is a girl who moved to New York in the hopes of pursuing her fashion career. Julian, on the other hand, is the businessman who will be Lily's boss. This is perfect book if you're craving for a workplace romance story.
The book is fast paced and it'll start off quickly so you won't have trouble finding your groove, and we assure you -- this'll leave you laughing and wanting more! Check out The Allure of Julian Lefray for an easy read to get you through the weekend.
The Allure of Dean Harper
This book contains characters from The Allure of Julian Lefray, and we assure you you'll love this just as much!
Lily is Jo's best friend, and she's about to start working for Dean Harper (who is the total opposite of Julian Lefray). Get this -- Lily calls Dean as a 'control freak in a tailor-made suit', and a person whose ego 'makes Kanye West look like Dalai Lama'.
It's the total opposite of The Allure of Julian Lefray because this time, the boss isn't such a nice guy. But we're absolutely positive this'll hook you in as well! (You'll enjoy this more if you read it after The Allure of Julian Lefray.)
The Duet
We're leaving the office and heading over to the world of celebrities!
Brooklyn Heart is a pop sensation whose songs enchant audiences worldwide, although the enchantment and wonder doesn't quite reach her love life. What happens when she has to share the stage with Jason Monroe, aka a person who doesn't want to share the stage with anyone?
Read this story to find out how (or if!) these two characters will ever be able to feel the sparks and write The Duet! ;)
The Design
This story is found in the same universe as The Duet. Cameron Heart is Brooklyn Heart's sister, except she's not in the music industry like her sister.
Cammie has always had the biggest crush on Grayson Cole who happens to be her sister's friend, and her new boss. Add in the fact that Grayson is the most intimidating man Cammie has met -- well, this is bound to become a roller coaster ride of feelings!
This has the humor and romance that you'll keep craving for in all of Rachel's books, and we assure you you'll love this one just as much! (Make sure to read this after The Duet! Both books are standalones but it's enjoyable to be in the same universe.)
A Place in the Sun
Sometimes, you just want to run away to a quiet little town in Italy to be left to your own devices. And then maybe meet a handsome and romantic-looking man to fall in love with? ;)
That's what A Place in The Sun is all about. Georgie runs away from home and heads to a seaside village in Italy where she meets Gianluca - a mysterious recluse who has no plans of being involved in her fairytale.
However, this story promises you that in every fairytale, things don't always go the way they're planned - there are times that reality is way better.
If you're craving for some out of town or out of the country adventure but you couldn't afford it yet, this book has the perfect world to get stuck into!
Scoring Wilder
Another thing we love about Rachel is how her books are so unique from one another, and at the same time it has the Rachel Grey formula we keep looking for!
Scoring Wilder is a sports-centered book about nineteen-year-old Kinsley Bryant who is attracted to Liam Wilder, a professional soccer player. There's one problem, though - Liam is off-limits because he is one of the coaches.
So what should Kinsley do? Find out in this swoon-worthy and equally humoring novel!
This one is the perfect read if you miss those summer camps you used to attend when you were younger. It reminds you of the friends you made and the memories you miss up to this very day!
The Foxe and The Hound
There's a huge amount of awkward in all of us. It's a simple fact. However, there might be more in some people, and this trait comes to fruition in The Foxe in The Hound.
This book has all the makings of a romcom that'll definitely make you laugh out loud! It has an awkward and endearing female character, a hot doctor, and pets!
But what if said female lead has to play as hot doctor's girlfriend so he could hire her as his real estate agent?
Hooked yet? Make sure to grab this book ASAP because it's one of our Rachel Grey favorites! (Although we'll admit, all of these books in this list are our favorites!)
The Beau and The Belle
Ever had that childhood crush who was strictly off limits? Remember how much it hurts when you realize they don't feel the same way?
Flash forward to ten years after -- what if you see that person again and this time, they can't get their eyes off of you? Only this time, you're older, more confident, and poised. Feels good, doesn't it? ;)
Enter this world in New Orleans and see how Lauren 'moved on' from her crush on Beau and how it all goes down when they see each other again.
This book is the perfect buddy to snuggle in bed with when you just want to lie under the covers. (Trust us! We've tried. 😛)
Arrogant Devil
Arrogant Devil tells about what it's like when everything you've ever known falls around you and you're forced to start somewhere new. These things either go one of two ways - will you get back up? Or will you stay in rock bottom?
At first impression, Meredith comes off as a 'spoiled princess'. Even Jack McNight thought so, especially after hearing the things her sister had to say about her. However, Meredith was dead set on fixing her life to start anew. This is the reason why she didn't let other people's words get to her.
Can she find the fresh beginning she wants and needs, and get a Texas romance out of it, too?
Arrogant Devil is another swoon-worthy, funny, and angst-filled romance you need to check out as soon as you get the chance!
So there! Those are our top picks from Rachel Grey. Rest assured that these won't be boring reads and they'll surely get you out of your reading slump.
