Sort of a restaurant review: Cafe Mary Grace

Ever since Cafe Mary Grace began, it has been tagged as the 'Tambayan ng mga Tita' Cafe. Funny, and very sosyal-sounding, but have you ever wondered why it's tagged as such?

Well, let atmnl help you figure out!
Truly a savory starter - cheddar cheese with tomatoes and capers. Good for two, priced at PHP 187

1. Titas of Manila are familiar to "Buon Appetito"

There’s probably no cuisine in the world that’s as loved as Italian. And it's obvious enough that Italians share with the world what they know best - food!

As Italian food became more and more popular, the Philippines has also embraced this global sensation. We grew up eating our mom's spaghetti, and we have this "let's go for an Italian dinner" after-work-get-together or sometimes you're just in the mood for pizza day.

We theorize that that's where Cafe Mary Grace comes in. It hopes to emulate the experience you get from eating in an Italian restaurant, but with a twist - you get to eat a fusion of Italian and Filipino cuisine. Because of the familiar vibe, any generation can relate, most especially the Tita's who, at one point or another, dreamed of going to Italy or remember it from a previous trip.

2. Cafe Mary Grace welcomes anyone (even those who aren't in an iconic look)

Here's what an iconic look is - a dress, a pouch or a purse, and the complete aura of being a member of the alta de ciudad. Unlike in fine dining restaurants, that look isn't required here! The overall look of the cafe is perfect for both casual and extravagant kinds of people.

Even though the cafe is decorated with huge sense of fun and whimsicality, it has a vibe that makes you casually enjoy eating and chatting at the same time - something that Titas of Manila will surely enjoy!

3. They are capable, so they confidently splurge at Cafe Mary Grace

Just like everyone else, they love to have good dining experiences. It's easy to fall in love with Mary Grace even more because of its well-presented and delicious meals!

**If you want to experience a full course meal in this cafe, you should be willing to splurge on your moolah.
The dishes are quite pricey. Roughly, you will spend PHP 700 to 1,000 for two to experience a 3-course meal. But we can say that every peso spent in your entire dining experience is worth it!

Note: This is not a paid article; This is just because we fell in love with their food. Almost all the dishes in Cafe Mary Grace are flavorful and delicious. We've actually asked our male friends about it and we've got the same answers -- they love it!

 4. They are sure that each dish is worth recommending to others

Remember, Titas love sharing ideas and this includes food and restaurant recommendations, from tasting zesty oranges on signature dishes to the appetizer and up to the choice of drink.

At first glance, the menu of Mary grace looks like your favorite Italian fanfare. You have your fresh salad, pasta, and pizza. But take a closer look -- they have soup, Filipino rice plates, and pastries of all sorts with unexpected ingredients and Pinoy flavors.

Even though their Mary Grace tandem (Grilled Ensaymada with Signature Hot Chocolate) isn't a major Italian dish, this restaurant will remind you that it's not just the ordinary Italian-inspired restaurant. But it's still exceptional and can make you feel like you're dining in Italy!
From their collection of flavorful pastas, here's Seafood Pasta - a medley of fresh clams, mussels, prawns, squid, and cream dory enhanced with herbs, olives, and mushrooms. Priced at PHP 350 [from split serving]

5. They know the drill - you can order one and split it into two!

At Cafe Mary Grace you won't feel any hint of judgment from the waiter/server - they will actually ask you about it first. They just know that Titas love cutting the carbs (but really our Tita just wanted to share the love and cutting off the prices because of some practical reasons). ;)

6. Titas love bringing their adorable cute nieces/nephews or the little ones and the cafe has a special place for them!

Most of their branches have a safe corner for playing and reading, so our titas can multitask - they can chika and bond with their friends while watching over the little ones. Surely, another plus point considering not all restaurants are child-friendly with their setup and food.

The best time to visit Cafe Mary Grace is during the weekends when they have specials and promos too! And if the chefs from different branches are consistent in the execution of each dish, then we’d recommend it every time.

In the end, we think Cafe Mary Grace is not only for titas but for everyone! It is a welcome addition to our favorite restaurants and their uncompromising bestsellers make the place worth visiting.

As everyone else is trying to think outside the box, Cafe Mary Grace recognizes that there is something to gain from staying true to the classics -- "There's no place like home".
So there, give it a try and let us know how your experience goes. :)

Be consistent and include these as part of your daily bread. Ask every member of your family (at least) to support you and do the same. Like a ripple effect, at least 5/10 ratio of people has a bigger impact than 2/10 ratio of saving mother earth.
