Kelsey Merritt is showing us that big dreams (even dreams as big as Victoria's Secret!) do come true

Even dreams as big as the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!

Who says big dreams can't come true? One of our current girl crushes just showed us that anything is possible - as long as you put your heart and mind into it! And that girl is no other than Philippines' very own Kelsey Merritt.

Kelsey is a Filipino-American model who has appeared in ads for local brands Palmolive, Kashieca, Sunnies Studios, Bench, San Mig Light, and even worldwide brands Maybelline, Vera Wang, and now, Victoria's Secret. She graduated from Ateneo de Manila University in 2017 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts Major in Communication. If you're not that into the modelling scene here in the country or overseas, you might recognize Kelsey Merritt from any of these two ads.
Remember her yet? We've sure you've seen those ads more than once because that is aired a lot on the major TV stations here in the country. 

Anyway, back in 2017, Kelsey tweeted this:
And theeeeen, less than a year after, this is what she announced!
We can just imagine how exciting this must be for her, because we were very excited as well! Victoria's Secret is one of the biggest female brands in the world, and it's also one of the most well-known so this is definitely huge! Since then, it didn't take long till Kelsey's VS shoots came out. 
She was even featured on the official website for Victoria's Secret.

Isn't it amazing? Even if you've never followed her career, it's so awesome to see her accomplish all these things when it was just something she used to dream about. 

And that's not even the best part. Our fellow girls might be aware that every year, the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show airs all around the globe. It's an annual show featuring the brand's items.

This year, it will be held in New York. Months before the show, the brand holds castings for hopeful models who want to walk the runway. Lots of models dream of walking the runway along with the VS Angels and other personalities who made the cut.

Of course, we were ecstatic to hear that Kelsey went to the castings a few days ago. She even shared what she wore along with some other shots which made us go heart-eyes-mode over her! Here are some of our favourite photos:
Isn't she gorgeous? We're feeling equal parts jealous and awestruck because we're very hopeful she's going to make it! And that is further cemented by the fact that she was invited for callbacks. Callbacks were held a few days after and this is what she wore:

And to make it even better, it didn't take long for the confirmation to be released.

Kelsey is walking at the VSFS runway this year in New York!

We're already so excited for her, and we fell for her even more because it's clear how humble this beauty is! She's proud to represent the Philippines this way, and we couldn't have chosen a better person for this opportunity, too.
Did that video make you teary eyed? It sure did for us! Add in the fact that she has a supportive boyfriend (swimmer Conor J Dwyer) and that just gives us the sweets and heart eyes as we pore over her Instagram account!

Kelsey has definitely showed us that even big dreams such as this can come true! And just because you didn't get it immediately doesn't mean it won't ever happen. 

Kelsey has revealed on her interview with Preview Magazine that she was casted twice before she was booked for the job. Finally, she got a callback where she did a trial shoot with them, and the rest was history! Of course, this didn't come easy to Kelsey. She works hard to maintain her fitness and her diet, and it definitely shows because of how gorgeous her figure is!

She's definitely one of our major girl crushes not just because of how beautiful she is, but also because of her amazing work ethic and her humility that will definitely help her go a long way.

For all our sisters out there, no matter what we dream to be (whether it'd be a model or an actress or a singer or an author or a CEO or you just want to live a simple happy life), it's all possible. We all just need hard work and inspiration and we'll definitely get there!

Be consistent and include these as part of your daily bread. Ask every member of your family (at least) to support you and do the same. Like a ripple effect, at least 5/10 ratio of people has a bigger impact than 2/10 ratio of saving mother earth.
